"Where you can write..."

About Me

My background

I hail from the rolling cornfields of Ohio. While currently living and working in Columbus, I am a corn-on-the-cob country girl at heart! I am a Pre-K teacher by day and aspiring author by night. In both these areas, nothing makes me happier then inspiring kids to see themselves as confident and talented individuals.

My writing roots

When I was in eighth grade, my English teacher introduced me to the club known as 'Power of the Pen'.  It was like taking off on a rocket. I won 'Best of Best' in my first writing competition and I couldn't stop writing after that. I've written for a newsletter and for a few magazines, but I always gravitate back to fiction. My short stories range from romance, suspense, Western, and historical fiction... sometimes they have a point, other times they are the means to vent the colorful expressions that pound inside my writer's brain 24/7.

Final Truth however, is my first novel. A long journey of two years, that can now be a thrilling and gripping journey for others! Grab your copy by going to www.redemption-press.copm/store-landing.

Rooted in the Faith

Much of what I write- by which I mean all of it- is the strongest expression of my faith in Jesus Christ. By faith I mean the heavy bonds that have grown through much love, eagerness, confusion, awe, and even anger towards Him. All being met with the same response; God's provision and immaculate sense of timing!

Being raised in a church going family, I never considered God to NOT be a part of my life. I asked Him to forgive my sins when I was seven- in a bathroom of all places! I grew into a better understanding of my commitment when I reached middle school and finally decided to get baptized when I was sixteen. Writing, in the same way as my baptism, is my way of publicly speaking about my faith and how God uses it in His transformation of His children. Again, when I say 'faith', I mean the deep relationship I have come into with all these years of seeking God; including the times I've questioned if He was there for me at all.

I could fill several books with how many ways He has shown His goodness toward me and reeled me back in with painful reminders that it's no use trying to get anywhere without him. This education- experience- He gives His children is something that never ends ... and I don't want it to! For myself or the other people that might be introduced to Him through my writing. The latter only exists because of my faith. I'm excited to see where both of them take me... and you!

For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet,
till her vindication shines out like the dawn,
her salvation like a blazing torch.

~Isaiah 62:1 (NIV)~
